Support to investee organisations

We believe that growing community enterprises need more than just money. Equally important for the Adventure Capital Fund is the support we can offer you on your journey towards sustainability.

Business Development Grant

This fund exists to help organisations conduct more research into their enterprise idea and to become investment ready. A business development grant also comes with five days’ mentoring from one of the Adventure Capital Fund’s pool of Supporters.

Main Investment and Managed Workspace

Support for these Funds is at three different levels.

Pre-offer support

If we believe you are very close to being ready to benefit from an investment from the Main Investment Fund, we may match you with a Supporter, who acts as a mentor. The Adventure Capital Fund has a network of Supporters and we will endeavour to find a Supporter who offers a good fit with your organisation. Your Supporter will help you to prepare the best possible application and presentation for our investment panel.

Post-offer support

Once an investment is agreed in principle, there may be a considerable amount of work needed to reach the point where we can actually pay funds to you. Your Supporter will work with you and offer advice on unforeseen problems that might arise.

Post-investment support

Even after you start drawing down funds, you will be able to keep your Supporter if you need them. This is part of our commitment to building a long-term relationship with our investees. We will also aim to visit you once or twice a year to see how you are getting on and we will expect you to adopt some agreed management tools that will provide us with information, help you to measure what you do and identify new opportunities for future development.

We are not there just to kick-start investment, but to be a part of what your organisation is achieving.
