The Main Investment Fund is for established community enterprises with the potential to make a major contribution to their communities. The funding is usually a mix of loans and grants totalling £50,000 to £750,000, along with a comprehensive package of support.

Backing from the Main Investment Fund can be used to provide working capital or revenue costs, to finance the purchase of a capital asset or to refurbish assets. The investment must enable an organisation to develop its enterprising activities to become a sound, sustainable business which can make a major contribution to its community.
